The book of John chapter 10 talks about Jesus being the good shepherd that sees the wolf from far ahead (verse 12-16)– the wolf’s main intention is to destroy the sheep but Jesus as the good shepherd steers the sheep on a safer course and protects them. A while ago I had a nightmare experience at work and the quality of my work dropped, unbearable errors and everything went haywire. In my confusion I first cried like a baby – Lord what is this I said, where has this come from? The lord sent me to John 10 – he spoke to my heart – Funke I am protecting you from whet lies ahead if you continue on this path of disobedience and don’t fulfil what I called you to do. (Colossians 4v 17 – says Tell Archippus ‘See to it that you fulfil the ministry that you have received from the Lord’.
It stopped me in my tracks and I looked up at ~Jehovah ElRoy the God that Sees – he is the God that sees ahead to deliver us from the lion and the wolf that is waiting on the very busy path of destruction we are taking, the path of procrastination and postponement and never really doing Gods will and work but always full of excuses and managing to do ours. The path of Lord I need money to pay these huge bills just give me some more time. The God of my life – Jehovah Chai I praise you, I adore you I magnify you – The God of my Life thank you for delivering me from the fire of trials and the ignorance of destruction.
I am not the provider of my family – God is, I am not the protector of my family – God is, I do not determine the future God does. NOW I PROMISE TO PUT YOU FIRST IN EVERYTHING GOD HELP ME. All the things you have spoken to my heart I will do, all the visions and dreams I will pursue by your grace, no more lip service to your instructions, its time for action for the time is short and the day is far spent – I will attend to your words (make it my number one priority), I will incline my ears to your sayings, I will not let it depart from my eyes but keep it in the midst of my heart for they are LIFE and HEALTH to all my FLESH. (Proverbs 4v20-22).
If you are facing a trial today, it has a purpose and there is no senseless trial – your provision to bear and overcome the trial is also guaranteed 1 Cor 10v 13 promises us that no trial comes our way that is too much for us to bear and that there is strength to endure whilst God makes a way of escape for us. If you love God EVERYTHING will work together for your good Romans 8 v 28. So hold on to Gods word and don’t quit.
